SmartZoom
Automatically detect and zoom to important moments in your recordings. No manual editing required.
🔍 What is SmartZoom?
SmartZoom analyzes your mouse clicks, keyboard input, and UI interactions to automatically create zoom effects. It knows when you click a button, type in a field, or navigate a menu — and zooms in at just the right moment.
How It Works
SmartZoom analyzes three types of signals during your recording:
Mouse Events
Clicks, drags, and scroll actions. SmartZoom detects where you click and zooms to that location automatically.
Keyboard Input
Typing in text fields and keyboard shortcuts. When you start typing, SmartZoom focuses on the input area.
UI Interactions
Menu opens, dialogs, and focus changes. SmartZoom tracks window and UI element focus via accessibility APIs.
Zoom Animation
Each zoom follows a smooth animation sequence:
- Zoom In (300ms) — Smoothly zooms to the target area
- Hold — Stays zoomed while you interact (typing, menu navigation)
- Zoom Out (400ms) — Returns to full view when the action completes
Pattern Detection
SmartZoom recognizes common interaction patterns:
Menu Navigation
Spreadsheet Editing
Toolbar Clicks
Text Input
Zoom Settings (Studio)
Customize the zoom behavior in Studio:
Zoom Scale
Control how much the video zooms in:
Easing Options
Choose how the zoom animation feels:
- Ease In-Out — Smooth start and end (default)
- Ease Out — Quick start, smooth end
- Elastic — Bouncy, playful feel
- Cubic — Professional, cinematic
Manual Zoom Editing
While SmartZoom handles most cases automatically, you can also create manual zoom regions in Studio:
- Add custom zoom points anywhere on the timeline
- Adjust zoom center position by dragging
- Change zoom scale and timing
- Enable or disable individual zoom regions
Tips
- SmartZoom works best with deliberate mouse movements
- Rapid clicking in the same area is automatically filtered out
- Menu navigation is tracked smoothly — just use menus naturally
- Text input triggers zoom to the text field automatically
- You can always disable SmartZoom for specific clips in Studio
